I just noticed “abortion” was trending on Twitter. It’s seems as if this pastor from a Baptist Church in Minneapolis just made a retweet-worthy tweet. And his flock said unto him, “Ye, abortion is worse than the Klan!”

Of course, the pastor is quoting the good Reverend Clenard (not a real name!)…”explaining” the numbers of a “study“…done by a pro-life “think tank”*…in an article found in on a pro-life, “faith-based pregnancy resource center”:

Rev. Clenard Childress, Northeast Region President of the Life Education And Resource Network (L.E.A.R.N.), explains the numbers: “The abortion industry kills as many Black people every four days as the Klan killed in 150 years. Since 1973, legal abortion has killed more Blacks than AIDS, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and violent crime combined.”

And L.E.A.R.N. we did.

I also want to point out who put this “study” together:

Susan W. Enouen, P.E., is currently a homemaker and volunteer with a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University. Her professional experience includes work in data analysis and research for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Dupont, and Battelle Memorial Institute. She and her husband, Robert, live in Cincinnati, OH with their three children.

That’s right, a former data analyst for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration twisted some real data that would be mangled by a Reverend that would be quoted by a pastor on Twitter and would trend for a few minutes on November 20, 2009.
